A well-known Miami chef is now offering up an exclusive dining experience where only six people are served each seating,

Where? At Faena Hotel Miami Beach, which recently debuted El Secreto  Omakase, a one-of-a-kind, intimate speakeasy-style omakase experience curated by James Beard Award-winning chef Paul Qui.

El Secreto Omakase features a six-seat bar with just two seatings per night, and a tasting menu of Tokyo-style sushi and Kyoto-style kaiseki. A stunning private bar, the space is  tucked behind Faena Hotel Miami Beach’s candlelit cava and the red velvet folds of Faena Theater,  El Secreto Omakase will introduce a remarkable new culinary experience to Faena District.

In Japanese, the word ‘omakase’ is translated to ‘I leave it up to you’, or in gastronomic speak: chef’s  selection. The intimate, singular experience will offer an ever-evolving tasting menu inspired by Qui’s extensive training in Japanese cuisine.

Qui’s passion for sushi blossomed early in his career with his decade-long tenure at Tyson Cole’s Uchi in Austin before launching the first high-end omakase concept in Texas. The opening of El Secreto Omakase marks Qui’s longstanding dream  of opening a discrete sushi restaurant, presenting innovative flavors, and the best technique and  freshest fish from around the world.
