A new restaurant has opened in South Beach, bringing a mix of Mediterranean flavors and Southern comfort classics to South Beach.
Known as Playa, the new establishment is set inside the Sterling Building, a mixed-use complex in the heart of South Beach located just a few blocks off the beach at South Florida's famous outdoor shopping and alfresco walking mall.
From the laid-back ambiance to the breathtaking decor, guests will be able to soak up some major tropical vibes at this new fine dining restaurant and outdoor terrace with a focus on Southern Mediterranean fusion in an inspiring space that offers a sultry ambiance, delicious cuisine, and live entertainment.
The new concept is the work of Show Hospitality, the team behind Midtown’s vibey Mykonos-meets-Tulum-inspired eatery, Maü Miami. As such, Playa aims to transport guests to the Mediterranean coast with a menu that celebrates fresh regional flavors and premium ingredients.
Playa’s airy and expansive 4,400-square-foot space and large outdoor terrace allow guests to feel the ocean breeze surrounded by soothing tropical greenery and nature-inspired decor. When the sun sets, Playa takes cues from its lively SoBe neighborhood, transforming into an energizing experience complete with live music and unique entertainment.
Likewise, the menu at Playa is all about bold flavors and quality ingredients that come together to create a memorable dining experience in the heart of South Beach. Highlights of Playa's unique menu consist of fresh-cut, high-end meats, seafood specialties, and Southern comfort classics that range from blackened catfish and grits, a Cajun-spiced ribeye, and lobster ravioli to grilled lamb skewers, whole fish, and seafood towers. The restaurant also boasts an extensive wine and champagne list to pair perfectly with the dishes.
