An innovative new venue dubbed THRōW Social will open next week in downtown Delray Beach, offering guests a chance to experience multiple concepts in one.

Owner and founder of renowned experiential entertainment entity, The Ginger Companies, new South Florida resident Ginger Flesher-Sonnier says she hopes to elevate the traditional "night out" experience with her latest creation, an innovative competitive socializing hospitality venue unlike anything else they seaside town has to offer.

The space will open in the former Il Bacio space at 29 SE 2nd Avenue on Tuesday, December 28.

THRōW Social is Sonnier's take on modern experiential entertainment, delivered through a unique combination of hospitality, creative cocktails, indoor/outdoor spaces, engaging activities, and competitive socializing.

Sonnier’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2014, when she visited her first escape room on a trip to Prague with her husband Darren. The escape room felt run down and dingy, but the concept itself struck a powerful chord in her.

"I had an idea to use my love for design, puzzles, and marketing to create my own 'escape' room," says Flesher-Sonnier.

While still abroad, and with no actual space to her name, she published a website and to her surprise received an influx of bookings. She signed a lease as soon as she returned home to Washington, DC, building the space herself.

Over the next 7 years, Flesher-Sonnier designed and opened 12 more escape rooms in the DC area, three Kick Axe Throwing locations (including the first axe throwing venue in New York City in 2017), and the first iteration of her brand THRōW Social in Washington, DC. Since that time, she has been credited with being amongst the first to bring the escape room entertainment experience to the United States.

Once in DC, the concept took the northeast by storm with the launch of Escape Room Live, what many called the “Disney World” of escape rooms — the first of its kind to open in New York City, and among the first five in the country. In August 2021, the entrepreneur sold the concept.

Following her success, Flesher-Sonnier decided to take a different route with her next experience, THRow Social.

When the pandemic hit, she decided to change gears and parted ways with her escape room company. Noticing that people had less leisure time in general and ached to use their downtime differently, she wanted to bring to life something she herself was craving: a place to hang out, eat and most importantly, have an activity through which to competitively socialize and connect, all at once and in a gorgeous setting.

THRoW Social’s first location launched in February 2020, complete with touch-free booking options and a plethora of safety measures in place, ensuring guests could finally get back to socializing sans all the worries.

For Flesher-Sonnier, who currently lives in Lighthouse Point, the competitive socializing concept — complete with chef-driven cuisine, a mixologist-led beverage program, live music and DJs, high-tech social games, and VIP cabanas — was the perfect match for South Florida.

THRoW Social's upcoming Delray location celebrates South Florida’s fun, ‘Tropical Palm Beach Chic’ lifestyle at its best. Think 11,000 square feet of elevated design boasting the finest of all worlds, entertainment, bar offerings, Instagram-friendly shareable culinary and cocktails and experiential fun all in one; by day, a destination for families to share quality time and by night, a tropical-themed playground for adults to revel in.

When the concept opens next week, Sonnier hopes it will be the perfect location to celebrate New Year's Eve. Here, locals and tourists alike can say aloha to 2022 with the venue's Polynesian-themed New Year's Eve Lua event during the grand opening week of Delray Beach’s new experiential entertainment hospitality concept.

Select from inclusive NYE packages include the Let’s Flamingle! at $130 per person; Let’s Get Flocked Up! at $200 per person; Party Like a Flock Star (front stage) for $250 per person; and Zero Flocks Given VIP Cabanas for $300 per person.
