The holiday season is upon us. And given what has transpired over the past year-plus, many of us are of a mind to make up for lost time by visiting with friends and family for a cup of cheer.

And right now there's no better place to imbibe than a special holiday-themed pop-up bar designed to deliver Christmas vibes to South Florida.

In 2014, Miracle — a Christmas-themed temporary bar concept — took up residence in New York City. The concept was born when Greg Boehm decided to halt construction of what was to be his new East Village cocktail bar, Mace, to transform the unfinished space into a pop-up bar serving holiday-themed drinks among over-the-top Christmas decorations.

As crowds swarmed the NYC location, Boehm’s friends throughout the bar industry asked how they could recreate the holiday magic on their own turf and expansion became inevitable. The following year, Miracle expanded to four locations and — in 2016 — went worldwide with pop-ups in Greece, Montreal, and Paris.

Currently, Boehm and manager Joann Spiegel have expanded the concept to all corners of the US, transforming everyday bars and lounges into mini Miracle bars in cities across the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, and Central America.

This year, South Florida is lucky to have three Miracle bars, including one in Delray Beach.

Returning for the fifth year in a row, the Miracle pop-up is taking over Death or Glory, where you can find all the 2021 Miracle cocktails like the "Bad Santa" (aged Jamaican rum, velvet falernum, mixed spice butter, oat milk, and nutmeg) served up with plenty of festive holiday cheer.

Available all month through January 5, the Miracle Bar will be taking over both the indoor and outdoor bar at this favorite Delray Beach haunt, where every inch has been decked out floor-to-ceiling with a colorful display of holiday decor — and music to match.

The best part, however, is the festive cocktails served in themed glassware.

Sip on fan favorite cocktails including the "Christmapolitan" (vodka, elderflower, dry vermouth, spiced cranberry sauce, lime, rosemary, absinthe mist); "Snowball Old Fashioned" (rye, gingerbread, aromatic bitters, wormwood bitters, orange essence).  Or try one of any number of new Miracle cocktails this year, with the SanTaRex served in a T-Rex mug, Elfing Around, and the Jolly Koala made with bourbon, cacao nib aperitif, dry vermouth, mulled wine reduction, mole bitters.

Last, finish your night with a shot — the "Naughty" shot, or the "Nice" shot — or even both. Need something to bring home? The themed glassware will also be available for purchase at all pop-ups while supplies last, along with holiday-themed mock-tails.
