Tacos El Porky, a taqueria specializing in tacos al pastor, has officially opened in Downtown Miami.

From the team behind PEZ and the successful El Primo Red Tacos pop-up restaurant launched during the COVID-19, the new taco shop offers a nod to all the things that make for a real taqueria experience with its goal to create a hub for Mexican food, located within walking distance from its sister restaurants.

“Tacos El Porky has a fast-paced kitchen and casual environment, the way taco shops are meant to be,” said Frank Neri, co-owner at the new eatery. “It’s unpretentious and our focus is on just one thing: making the best tacos al pastor you’ve ever tried, available even late-night, with locally sourced and fresh ingredients.”

Tacos al pastor are among the most popular tacos worldwide, and their beginnings are rooted in Lebanese culture. This casual food is comforting, convenient, and cooked following the traditional method of using trompo, the spinning grill with a vertical broiler used to cook the tender pork meat seasoned with chiles and spices. Thin slices of pork meat are trimmed and served in a warm corn tortilla topped with onion, cilantro, pineapple, salsa, and housemade hot sauce.

At Tacos El Porky you get the real interaction with the taquero, ordering food directly with him. Your Tacos Al Pastor will be ready by the time the order is rung up, and ordering is as simple as ‘un 2 x 3’ (if you know, you know).

“We want our customers to feel at home and Tacos ‘El Porky’ provides quality food that doesn’t break your budget, is quick and easy to make, and much more fun to enjoy,” said Neri. “Tacos can be messy, but they’re oh so good!”

Tacos El Porky is set to become a new taco spot in Miami, and is regularly open Tuesday through Sunday beginning at 5 p.m., located at 16 W Flagler Street, Miami. Order from the online menu for delivery and takeout, or dine-in while in Downtown Miami to try the signature menu item as well as classic beverages including housemade Agua de Jamaica (sweet hibiscus tea) and Horchata (sweet rice beverage).
