If you like shopping locally, a Homestead-based hemp farm is offering a unique South Florida first: a chance to buy your CBD products directly from the source.

Later this month, one of Florida's first hemp farms will open its own retail shop where customers can purchase a variety of the company's Florida-grown and produced CBD, CBG, CBN, and D8 products.

On November 30, the South Tip Farm Stand will officially launch its spacious indoor/outdoor retail market at the farm.

Founded in 2019, South Tip was among the first hemp farms to take root in Miami-Dade County. Built by a team of industry-leading experts in the cannabis, nursery, and farming industries, the farm focuses on the cultivation and production of CBD-rich hemp plants and products.

The company has a FDACS Hemp Cultivation License, a FDACS Hemp Food Establishment permit, and also works with the University of Florida through its IFAS Industrial Hemp Pilot Project, a research collaboration aimed at improving hemp crop quality and production.

Planting at South Tip began in the summer of 2020. Here, two spacious greenhouses and a 4.1-acre shade house allows plants to quickly grow in both strength and size, where they are watered through an automated irrigation program and have access to natural sunlight.

Today, the farm is able to grow, harvest, and produce a variety of products from tinctures and balms to pre-rolls and flowers.

And, thanks to South Florida's near year-round growing season, the farm is able to set itself apart from nationwide competitors by offering an ultra-fresh product thanks to its ability to execute frequent harvesting of its hemp flowers, ensuring product is always fresh — and maximally potent.

So, just what is CBD? Derived from hemp plants (which are different from marijuana plants), CBD is completely legal and does not provide any psychoactive effects. In other words, it won't get you high.  Instead, CBD is known to provide relaxing effects for the mind and body in a safe, effective, and natural way.

For more information on the various types of CBD products at South Tip, visit the company's website to find out which ones might be right for you.

At the South Tip retail store, guests will be able to roam the open-air space while perusing various items. Similar to an Apple store experience, sales associates can assist customers with in-store purchases using portable tablets.

Products are also for sale online, or can be found at select retail locations in South Florida, including Schnebly Redlands Winery and Brewery. They include South Tip's full line of Delta-8, CBD, CBG, and CBN-rich items that range from smokeable flowers and pre-rolls to a variety of tinctures and topicals.

Vape cartridges are also available for purchase at the farm's new retail store in Homestead. In the near future, expect to find a growing line of edible products, as well, including hard candies and gummies.

Moving forward, the store will also function as a relaxing space where guests can chat with friends or enjoy a sporting event on television in the store's outdoor seating area. In addition, the space will also host a series of monthly seminars geared at educating people on hemp and cannabinoid products.
