Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chefs of 2020 have a surprise for Miami.

This month, they'll be coming together to host a one-of-a-kind dinner at chef Niven Patel’s new Orno Restaurant, located inside the THesis Hotel. The special collaboration — inspired by the bond struck between the group of esteemed chefs during Aspen’s 2021 Food & Wine Classic — will allow fellow honorees of the 32nd class of Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chefs to come together for one incredible meal.

This respected group of culinary professionals, who were given the prestigious honor in 2020, will roll up their sleeves and work together to prepare an extraordinary 7-course meal for one night only, hosted at Orno. The dinner will take place on the evening of November 10, and is available via reservation only. Tickets are priced at $170+ per person and are available on Resy.

For the last 33 years, Food & Wine Magazine has recognized a highly-coveted  group of chefs shaping the future as part of its lauded Best New Chefs list, celebrating the culinary professionals who have established themselves as true pioneers of the culinary arts in America.

Food & Wine Magazine’s editor, Khushbu Shah, will join the 2020 class during the multi-course dinner which will showcase  their talents alongside their colleague Niven, who rose to fame following his first nationally acclaimed restaurant, Ghee, and has since further cemented his  legacy with Mamey and Orno.

Joining Patel is chef Eunjo Park of Kāwi, chef Donny Sirisavath of Khao Noodle Shop, chef Douglass Williams of Mida, chef Lena Sareini of Selden Standard, chef Nick Bognar of Indo, and chef Camille Cogswell of K'Far. Alongside the award-winning cast of culinary talent is executive chef Josh Elliott, who oversees Orno’s kitchen.

Patel and his business partner, Mohamed Alkassar, recently further established massive success by forming Alpareno Restaurant Group, a group that owns and operates Ghee, Mamey, and Orno in South Miami.

“Alpareno is honored to  have the unique opportunity to host an impressive dinner curated by the nation’s Best New Chefs for gastronomes to enjoy. We look forward to honoring the guest  chefs and giving them the platform to showcase their incredible talent using some ingredients from Niven’s farm and the wood-fired kitchen at our beloved Orno restaurant,” said Alkassar.

Guests will be greeted with a welcome drink in THesis Hotel’s Paseo, a well appointed outdoor breezeway showcasing museum-quality art before adjourning to Orno’s dining room. Orno’s open-kitchen concept invites guests to revel in the action as the best of class chefs collaborate on a 7-course menu with ingredients sourced from Niven’s farm, Rancho Patel, paired with a carefully  curated selection of wine. Given the intimate setting, guests will enjoy the unique opportunity to meet all the participating chefs who look forward to sharing their  personal journeys and the inspirations behind their craft.
