Restaurant industry veterans are set to debut an exciting new seafood concept in Boca Raton next month.
Corvina Seafood Grill is headed for downtown Boca Raton, set to open on Saturday, November 20. The new restaurant will feature a renowned chef, an array of unique culinary creations, and a stunning interior and exterior space.
The menu will focus on fresh seafood offered alongside sushi, a raw bar, steak, and chicken dishes, as well as small plates, craft cocktails, and an expansive wine list.
The 235-seat restaurant was created by industry veterans Dean Carras and Patrick Marino, along with operating partners David Wizenberg and renowned Washington, D.C. executive chef Jeff Tunks.
Tunks, well known in the metropolitan D.C. culinary scene, has earned a list of accolades that include Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington’s Chef of the Year and Washingtonian magazine’s Restaurateur of the Year. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, he's owned and operated some of the most iconic restaurants in the Washington, DC metro area alongside Wizenberg.
Now, after coming to South Florida, he will helm the kitchen at Corvina Seafood Grill.
"I got to know Boca Raton and the people here when I served as a visiting chef at Boca Bacchanal,” said Tunks. “The expansion of high-profile culinary offerings in Boca Raton heightened our interest in the region and we know that we wanted to be a part of it.”
The new eatery boasts both panoramic indoor and open-air seating for 235 guests and a private dining room that seats up to 32 guests. The Atlantic Ocean inspired interior will feature a colorful saltwater aquarium with a number of eye-catching touches — an ambiance created in hopes of making it one of Mizner Park's most trafficked establishments.
The expansive indoor/outdoor bar will serve craft cocktails and shareable small plates. Described as a seafood lovers’ dream, the menu will feature a myriad of dishes including fresh, locally sourced, daily catch, briny oysters on the half shell, sushi rolls, and vertically spectacular seafood towers, as well as an array of fine steaks, poultry and health-conscious menu items.
Don't miss the chef's specialties, from the Grilled Prawns "Diablo" served with a sweet corn and fresh cheese cachapa smothered in a chipotle cream pineapple chutney or Plantain Crusted Corvina plated with a sweet potato mash and Island Creole curry sauce to the authentic Moqueca Baiana Brazilian Fish Stew brimming with lobster, prawns, mussels, and the fresh catch of the day finished with coconut milk and dende oil.
For imbibers: A unique "9 for $9" happy hour menu consists of imaginative edibles like Rock Shrimp Nachos, Tito’s Bloody Mary Oyster Shooters, and Crispy Smashed Potatoes Patatas Bravas with a spicy smoked paprika sauce sold for $9 apiece.
