Nicolas and Susanna Kurban, the husband-wife team behind Amar Mediterranean Bistro in Delray Beach, have baked up another surprise for Palm Beach County foodies.

The couple recently opened a new concept, Amar Bakery & Market, in Boynton Beach. The eatery, open Tuesday through Sunday, specializes in house-made pastries, sweets, and artisanal bread served alongside a number of gourmet sandwiches, flatbreads, and salads while the market comes into focus with boutique items including garlic toum, labneh, za’atar chips, olive oil, spices, and more.

The best part: everything at Amar Bakery & Market is prepared and baked fresh daily at the in-house kitchen.

Susanna serves as the head creative chef at Amar Bakery & Market, infusing the seasonally rotating menu with influencers from the Mediterranean and the Middle East, from the Falafel Wraps, Hummus, Baba Ganouj, and Stuffed Grape Leaves to the Za’atar Croissants, Baklava Cheesecake, Fig & Pistachio Cake, and more.

Catering to all tastes and dietary restrictions, the bakery also offers an extensive list of vegan options, including a selection of muffins and cookies, the house favorite Tahini Chocolate Cake, a Semolina Cake, and an assortment of traditional baked goods from buttery hand-rolled croissants, scones, and brownies to fluffy loaves of challah bread and breakfast sandwiches.

"With the success of Amar Mediterranean Bistro, and the demand for food to go, it felt like the right time to expand the brand," said Nicolas. “The fast-casual setting gives the community easier access to our unique twist on desserts, sandwiches, and vegan items. The larger production facility also offers us the opportunity to provide wholesale baked goods to area restaurants, catering, and made-to-order cakes."

While visiting Amar Bakery & Market, diners can enjoy various specialty coffees from Jupiter’s award-winning Pumphouse Coffee Roasters. Highly respected for their quality roasted coffee and community commitment, brothers Alex and Christian Le Clainche were natural partners for the Kurbans.

“The opportunity to work with Amar is, in our eyes, a win for two small businesses in South Florida that will produce nothing short of meaningful impact,” said Christian Le Clainche, co-founder of Pumphouse Coffee Roasters. “Our goal has always been to broaden access to specialty coffee, and Amar Bakery is making all of the investments necessary to serve the local community best. We’re thrilled to share common ground with a family-run business that focuses on their people and quality first.”

Amar Bakery & Market is located at 1600 N Federal Hwy #15, Boynton Beach; 561.806.6726; or visit You can follow on Instagram at @amarbakeryandmarket. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
