Coolgreens, a healthy lifestyle eatery based in Texas, is set to bring its fresh, chef-inspired menu to South Florida.

After a year that forced restaurant brands to adapt and evolve quickly in order to survive, Coolgreens has positioned itself for an extraordinary 2021 through innovative business strategies and a focus on growth.

"Even though 2020 was difficult, we faced the challenges head-on and thought outside of the box regarding what our business can do,” said Coolgreens CEO Robert Lee. "Against all odds, we had record-breaking growth and great accomplishments this past year that are going to set us up for even more success in the next. I’m really proud of how resilient our team has been, and I know 2021 is going to be a huge year for us."

Part of that positivity: expanding into the South Florida market.

Earlier this week, Lee announced he is preparing his Dallas-based company for major expansion in the Sunshine State, starting with new locations set to open in Coral Springs and Delray Beach. The first of the two restaurants is slated to open in Delray Beach this fall.

Located at 1841 S. Federal Highway in Delray Place, Coolgreens’ newest 1,500-square-foot restaurant will serve “Food that Feeds Your Life” in the healthy lifestyle eatery’s newest, streamlined store design that allows for quicker service time with the same seating capacity.Coolgreens’ Coral Springs location is slated to open in August of 2022, bringing the same high-quality menu items that fuel loyal fans.

"We have always felt that Florida would be a fantastic market for us," said Lee. "The state’s outdoor lifestyle and interest in eating healthy aligns perfectly with our brand. Our scratch-made salads, wraps, sandwiches, and grain bowls offer high-quality, nutritious options that can’t be found in the South Florida area. Given Coolgreens’ continued success in revenue and profit, we felt now was the right time."

Coolgreens is a healthy lifestyle eatery committed to making the communities it serves a better place to live by creating healthy, fresh, made-to-order creations. The menu caters to a variety of lifestyles and diets with its signature salads, wraps, grain bowls, and sandwiches. Founded in 2009, Coolgreens currently has 11 corporate and franchise fast-casual restaurants in Oklahoma, Texas,  Nebraska and Florida.

In early 2020, Coolgreens also launched Coolgreens Market, smart fridges that offer a quick, affordable and delicious way to grab healthy food on-the-go. Initially, Coolgreens Market was targeted for high-traffic, dense areas such as airports, stadiums and universities. But when the pandemic limited foot traffic in populated areas, Coolgreens pivoted with its business approach, utilizing its smart fridges to capitalize on a new type of consumer: the socially distanced guest.

Coolgreens quickly changed its focus and implemented smart fridges in high-rise apartments and corporate office buildings. In June, members of Victorum Capital recognized the opportunity and invested. With the funding, the brand is on track to place at least 50 machines throughout the Metroplex.

The brand is currently offering franchising opportunities through its Coolgreens Market, a smart refrigerator that enables consumers to grab healthy, chef-inspired meals on-the-go – as well as through virtual/ghost kitchens. Coolgreens was named one of FastCasual’s 2021 Top 100 Movers & Shakers and one of USA Today’s Best Airport Grab-And-Go Dining destinations. "We’re starting our growth venture with two corporate locations in South Florida,” adds Lee.  "We’re actively seeking additional locations and at the same time looking for franchisees to help us expand aggressively throughout the state."
