Agave Bandido, a Mexican kitchen and tequila bar serving up contemporary cuisine and vibrant cocktails in Pembroke Pines, recently unveiled a new chef, menu items, and cocktails — and they look and sound amazing.
Since opening in fall of 2020, Agave Bandido has been wowing guests with its impeccable decor and modern take on classic Mexican cuisine.
Designed with an eyes for detail both inside and out, the 4,726-square-foot concept features an open kitchen for plenty of action, offering an alluring and lively atmosphere that runs seamlessly into the dramatic 55-seat indoor/outdoor bar. The Mexican eatery also features the first illustrated wall mural in the city for some added eye candy, compliments of Miami-based street artist, Ruben Ubiera.
Best of all: the food. Agave provides authentic creations designed to satisfy the palate whether you're looking for the perfect dinner date spot, a girls' night out, or spirited happy hour.
Agave’s food menu features a variety of tacos, house specialties dishes, and main plates including favorites like the Carne Asada Tacos topped with shaved onion, radish, chimichurri and cilantro; Fajitas served on a hot skillet with onions and peppers alongside house-made tortillas and shredded Oaxaca cheese, sour cream and salsa, served with the choice of steak, chicken, shrimp, or a combo of all three; and Spiced Rubbed Churrasco topped with chimichurri, served with yuca fries and a garlic cilantro crema.
Agave recently welcomed a new executive chef with Omar Martinez, who brings his 25-plus years of experience and passion for the culinary arts to the popular neighborhood dining destination. Martinez has had the opportunity to work with top hospitality brands including the Hard Rock Cafe, Live Nation’s House of Blues, Darden’s Yard House, Season 52, and Topgolf.
At Agave Bandido, Martinez is inspired to make great food that has the power to bring people together and create a memorable dining experience by combining both traditional skills and techniques with new approaches and trends.
"I'm excited to take the Agave culinary experience to the next level, and this fall, diners can expect to find some new seasonal ingredients on the menu," he says.
Thirsty? New and classic cocktail menu items include the Spicy Cantaloupe Margarita from La Adelita Tequila, made with La Adelita Blanco Tequila, fresh cantaloupe juice and fresno chili syrup, which will make its debut on the menu this week. The new margarita joins Agave’s distinct list of hand-crafted signature cocktails that guests can imbibe on, or choose from the restaurant’s curated list of tequila and mezcal offerings.
And for those ready to hop into fall festivities, the restaurant will be celebrating the autumn season with several exciting events this October, including a huge Halloween costume contest and party taking place from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Saturday, October 30. The event will feature prizes, specialty cocktails, live music, and more.
Also on deck for Halloween weekend is a spooky, family-friendly day full of fun and free activities for kids including balloons, candy, face painting and trick or treating taking place from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 31. Agave will also be asking for donations for their local charity partner throughout the event and will match all donations up to $5,000. The restaurant will close out the fall festivities with a multi-day celebration from Monday, November 1 to Tuesday, November 2, in honor of Day of the Dead, where attendees can enjoy delicious food, drinks, live music, and more.
