Urban Belly, the family-owned restaurant group behind Lemongrass Asian Bistro and Ramen Lab Eatery, is transporting South Florida tastebuds to Asia with their newest fast-casual concept dubbed Eat District. The restaurant is slated to open Thursday, July 8.
Located at the Fifth Avenue Shops in Boca Raton, the new restaurant invites guests to build their own bowls featuring healthy Asian flavors influenced by Thai, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and Vietnamese cuisine using generational family recipes with a wide variety of wholesome ingredients, spices, and natural herbs. Aunts and grandmas amongst other family members can often be found in the kitchen cooking up these beloved recipes.
The best part? The menu features non-GMO ingredients, hormone, and antibiotic-free meats, and a large variety of unique sauces along with gluten-free and vegan options, providing endless bowl combinations.
FUN FACT: Feng shui is calculated in periods lasting 20 years. The current period which started in 2004, is the period 8, which means the number eight symbolizes current prosperity. Thus, the reason for the chosen grand opening date.
Guests are guided through the menu of a diverse array of unique ingredients presented in three bowl sizes. Bases include yellow turmeric rice and Pad Thai noodles, topped with choose of seasonal roasted vegetables such as fresh ginger broccoli or garlic cauliflower. Protein options including Thai coconut chicken satay, Korean steak bulgogi, Vietnamese pork chop andsesame organic tofu are piled high. Then, guests choose from 10 sauces including red curry, sweet & sour or peanut sauce, with the change to level up with sauces from mild to extra hot. Last but not least, bowls can be garnished with cucumber salad, kimchi, Vietnamese pickles and fried shallots to name a few.
Eat District also offers a full menu of salad bowls, soups, side salads, and chef’s pick bowls such as the California Surf and Turf featuring spicy basil ground steak, lemongrass shrimp, mixed greens, quinoa brown rice, avocado, tomatoes, cucumber salad, red bell peppers, red onions, cilantro, fried shallots, Brussel sprouts, jalapeno lime sauce and the chef recommendation of an additional sauce, roasted pepper sauce. Beverages include fresh-brewed Asian teas including Fresh Ginger Tea, Lemongrass Olong Tea, Roselle Tea, Butterfly Pea Tea and Chrysanthemum Tea.
Starting at noon on Thursday, July 8, Eat District will celebrate its grand opening with $25 gift cards to the first 100 guests in line who order a bowl. Additionally, from 6 to 8 p.m., guests can enjoy free samples, live entertainment including a Japanese drummer, sips of wine, bubbly, fresh-pressed juices, and Asian teas — or strike a pose with their Insta-worthy tropical greenery-decorated walls and decor. Guests also have a chance to win free bowls for a year if they follow @eatdistrict on Instagram. A winner will be announced on July 8.
