Clematis Street is getting an upgrade with a new nightclub concept compliments of Cleve Mash, the night life and visionary and restaurateur behind some of South Florida's most successful and longest-running nightlife venues.
Right now, Cleve is counting the days until the grand opening of his latest establishment, Clematis Social, an all-new, elevated nightlife experience he says is primed to be the hotttest late-night destination in downtown West Palm Beach.
So hot, in fact, he even secrured Grammy award-winning DJ Cedric Gervais to help commence the club's offical launch this month. The French DJ, who has a residency at LIV Miami, is known for his progressive electro-house tech beats — especially his Grammy Award winning remix of Lana del Rey’s "Summertime Sadness." If you aren't familiar with him, get to know him better when he blasts his electric beats during the official Clematis Social launch party grand opening on May 28, 2021.
Table reservations for this event will be available on a first come first served basis. The dress code is club chic and strictly enforced. For VIP booth reservations, bottle service, or to inquire about hosting a private event, email Melissa@Clematissocialwpb.com.
Over ther past 24 years, Cleve and his business partner/brother Michael Mash III have strategically progressed their nightlife establishment located at 219 Clematis Street. The forward-thinking businessman is no stranger to successfully paving the way for the industry; over the years the duo have continuously evolved the club, keeping it relevant and a representation of what the people want from its early days as Monkey Club, then as Dr. Feelgoods, and again as Pawn Shop — and now its latest iteration as Clematis Social.
The new theme is all part of Cleve's uncanny ability to spot the needs of his customers — and give them what they want.
"To be successful in this business, you have to evolve,” he shares. "The city has done an amazing job of adding attractive new hotels, restaurants, and real estate filled with people of all ages craving a nightlife scene. We saw the evolution happening and rebranded accordingly. We have always been everybody's bar, and are excited for this next chapter."
Cleve used the pandemic's six-month hiatus to his advantage, taking the time to reevaluate the future of Clematis Street. He anticipated what life after the pandemic could look like and — at a time when most establishments were quiet — his creativity went into overdrive using the "downtime" to get to reinvent the space.
The aesthetic transformation is inspired by Cleve's time spent in the Miami Design District and Wynwood. As a result, Clematis Social will feature a three-story floral mural painted by renowned street artist Amanda Valdez.
Inside, her vibrant murals illuminate under the space's new lighting, laser show and Co2 jet cooling system. There will also be new stylish decor, including redesigned bars and a variety of seating areas for guest to relax — or revel — including ping pong and the librarian-style pool table and mega-sized chess boards designed for added entertainment.
Those who will come to dance are going to vibe to the sounds of South Florida’s best guest DJs, with a new sound system powerful enough for the high-wattage performance Gervais himself will be dishing out opening night.
Now, all that's left to do is get social.
Clematis Social will be open Thursday and Sunday from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.More information can be found online at clematissocialwpb.com.
