Who knows — you just might find partner and well-known basketball legend, Michael Jordan, partaking in this Jupiter restaurant's newest menu roll-out.
Starting late last month, 1000 North began serving lunch, launching an all-new menu available four days a week available Wednesday through Saturday. The destination-worthy spot is perfect for those looking for a high-end dining experinece thanks to its sweeping views of the Jupiter Inlet and the Jupiter Lighthouse.
Both a restaurant and private club, 1000 North opened in February of 2018. Conceived by developer Ira Fenton, former New York Giant running back Tucker Frederickson, and landlord/business partner Bjarne Borg, 1000 North also credits a number of celebrity and professional athletes as partners. From Ernie Els, Michael Jordan, and Bill Terlato to Rick Stoddard, Morton Bouchard, Vincent Cerone, and Stephen Mendell — the list continues to grow.
"We wanted to give guests something they can’t find in our area – an experience many people travel to Miami or New York to get. We’re bringing that to Jupiter, and topping it off with a beautiful waterfront view," Fenton has said of the establishment.
At 1000 North, executive chef Jason Van Bomel offers a celebration of modern American regional cuisine. With nearly three decades of experience, he brings a broad range of styles to the table.
The new lunch menu features a number of casual or seafood-inspired eats, from a Southern BLT Melt, a cross between a BLT and grilled cheese sandwich with smoked bacon and pimento cheese on brioche toast to the Creole Hot Crab Dip, made in-house and served with Old Bay pub chips.
1000 North's handheld Fried Oyster Po Boy packs a punch with buttermilk marinated oysters stuffed between two toasted buns with iceberg lettuce and basil. A creamy garlic and jalapeño remoulade gives it a real Louisiana kick, served alongside truffle fries.
The Steamed Mussels platter comes bathed in a tomato broth of andouille butter, celery, and garlic, with grilled ciabatta for swirling and dipping. And the Fried Chicken Salad is rife with juicy, crispy tenders served over a bed of market greens with avocado, blue cheese, and a soft-boiled egg and doused in a spicy buttermilk dressing.
The recent addition of executive pastry chef Mary Maugeri's Southern Chess Pie will tempt you to indulge in dessert. A classic Southern dessert, this gooey, buttery treat with a crisp browned topping is often served in squares. At 1000 North, it's elevated into a custard-style pie with a vanilla bean crust and dollops of blackberry gel, along with fresh berries and a marscapone cream.
The lunch menu is available Wednesday through Saturday, from noon to 3 p.m., and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Daily dinner service begins daily at 5 p.m.
