Anyone who has ever broken the law eventually gets caught it does not matter if it was a year ago or ten years ago information will continue to circulate.

Committing a crime is just like lying, you have to work just as hard to keep it a secret because you know you are wrong and embarrassed about what you have done.

When charges are being pressed it only makes the situation more difficult to hide, you have to take the time to cover your tracks.

Just recently, prosecutor Eric Smith has been under fire regarding an embezzlement charge, two men are claiming that county forfeiture funds were stolen. Both men William Weber and Benjamin Liston are claiming that Eric Smith had something to do with it.

in an article from Fox 2 News called "2 men will testify against former Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith" by Rachel Henry who elaborated on the situation that has transpired.

Rachel Henry stated "On Friday, Attorney General Dana Nessel secured a guilty plea from an area businessman associated with Smith, after he was charged in a years-long embezzlement scheme that included hundreds of thousands of dollars in stolen money.

Smith has said publicly that he acted irresponsibly and recklessly but he says he never compromised when it came to protecting the citizens of Macomb County."

After charges appeared prosecutor Eric Smith stepped down from his role, since then he has now been charged with ten felonies. No additional updates have been added regarding these charges, only time will tell depending on the truth.
