People usually go downtown to relax and have a good time with their loved ones but that was not the case on June 12, 2021. There are two suspects who have been claimed as the shooters from yesterday.

The suspect that they have in custody is considered a juvenile and is unable to announce what charges the suspect is facing.
In an article from Fox 7 News called "1 downtown Austin shooting victim dies, juvenile suspect in custody" by Amanda Ruiz and FOX 7 Austin Digital Team elaborated on how the event escalated.
Amanda Ruiz stated "When officers arrived they found a large crowd of people in the area and initially located several victims who had sustained gunshot wounds and were hurt. Officers immediately began life-saving measures on multiple victims.
The chief says luckily they had the officers to respond this time, but their staffing issues are still a huge problem. APD is really relying on this new cadet class to help get more officers on patrol."
During the shooting, there were police on standby and they were able to respond as quickly as possible.
The victim that passed away was only twenty-five years old, still young it is terrible to see people lose their lives to violence.
At this time detectives are still looking for more evidence to why this situation happened and what was the intention behind it.
