For the past year and a half, we have been trying to find new ways to beat the virus and keep our families safe.

There have been different remedies shared and vaccines created to assure us that we can beat this virus, especially in Michigan with the rise of Coronavirus cases.

This virus is still brand new and mutating new strands each day but, as a country we are researching new ways to keep ourselves healthy.

In an article from Fox 2 News called "Woman says infusion therapy helped save she and her husband from COVID-19" by Amy Lange and David Komer stated

"Susan Carlson and her husband, Ken, came down with COVID-19 in mid-April when they were only halfway through the vaccination process.

What was happening to them was happening to so many others here in Michigan. The April surge in coronavirus infections was terrifying and deadly.

Their doctor at Henry Ford Macomb prescribed monoclonal antibody therapy. It is an infusion treatment that when administered within 10 days of the onset of symptoms, saves lives.

"It's extremely effective in neutralizing the virus and preventing the symptoms from getting worse and the disease from getting more severe," said Dr. Adnan Munkarah."

For those that are unaware infusion therapy is known as an alternative treatment for someone taking medication orally. Infusion therapy is used to treat terrible infections, it can also be used for cancer patients.

With infusion therapy, the fluids are instantly going into the patient's body which allows the fluids to work as soon as possible.

After taking the infusion treatment the couple was able to get back to work after receiving a negative test for Coronavirus.

Lastly, remember although we have a vaccine there is still a chance that people can catch the virus if they are not practicing social distance and staying home when they are not feeling well.
