This may be great news for some and a downfall for others, just recently it was announced that Kwame Kilpatricks friend was just granted early release.

Bobby Ferguson worked as a contractor and helped Kwame Kilpatrick with his criminal plan many years ago.

Mr. Ferguson endured a six month trial before his sentencing but, while in prison he has been on good behavior and has been employed with the prison system. He has also done over 400 hours of classes and workshops.

In an article from Fox 2 News called "Bobby Ferguson, friend of Kwame Kilpatrick granted early release from prison" by Fox 2 Staff stated

"He was let out on compassionate grounds by a federal judge only three months after Kilpatrick had his 28-year prison sentence commuted by former President Donald Trump.

Ferguson, 52 was sentenced in 2013 after a six-month trial where he was convicted of nine financial crimes, including racketeering, bribery, and extortion. Testimony during the trial revealed he stole tens of millions of dollars.

"More specifically, Defendant was not an elected official and had been charged with and convicted of a substantially smaller number of charges. The Court therefore concluded that Defendant deserved a shorter sentence than Mr. Kilpatrick and ultimately sentenced Defendant to a term of imprisonment 75% as long as Mr. Kilpatrick’s sentence."

Since Bobby Ferguson has been on good behavior he has paid his debt to society and seems to be on the right path to being a positive asset to the community.
