Protecting our children should be the first priority because we never know what peoples' intentions are and what they may want from our children.

Human trafficking is at an all-time high due to people getting caught and people are not afraid to speak up anymore. Human trafficking is something our children should never experience but, should be aware of.

In addition, our children should be aware of how to protect themselves if someone is trying to take them or talk them into doing something that they do not want to do.

Protecting themselves could be going to a self-defense class, having pepper spray, or even just being aware of your surroundings and knowing when to call for help.

In an article from Fox 13 News called "High school coach, pastor among 79 arrested in human trafficking sting ahead of WrestleMania" by Fox 13 News Staff stated

"Hillsborough County detectives said dozens were arrested in the days leading up to Wrestle Mania 37 during an anti-human trafficking operation, including a high school basketball coach and a pastor who solicited sex while his two children were with him.

Sheriff Chad Chronister announced Thursday morning the arrests of 79 people during "Operation Takedown."

"As we have seen so many times before," he said during a press conference, "our great community can sometimes be tainted by individuals who use these large events to take advantage of another for human trafficking."

Moreover, police were able to catch the individuals involved in human trafficking by making fake profiles and dressing up as streetwalkers.

The article also went into detail on how big events help the police locate the people involved in human trafficking because those are the events that they attend to get younger children.

The more people catch the safer kids will be, Florida is one of the states with the highest human trafficking rate and they are working hard to get it under control.
