When a blended family comes together it can either start out really good or become really bad. This all depends on the relationship between both parties.
Taking on a role as a bonus parent is never easy, it can be difficult at times and it can also be an experience that you can grow from.
There is also a situation where it can become deadly but death is always a hard thing to experience, especially when it is between two people that you care about.
In an article from Fox 2 News called "Teen girl who was shot by step-father in Clawson has died, police say" by Jack Nissen stated
"The teenager that was shot during a domestic situation in Clawson on Sunday has died.
The 15-year-old was the stepdaughter of a man who open-fired at her and his neighbor before barricading himself in his home during the afternoon. He eventually died by suicide.
The Clawson Police Department posted the update Monday morning on their Facebook page.
The situation escalated around 2:30 p.m. after officers responded to reports of shots fired at a home on the 400 block of W. 14 Mile.
A 45-year-old man had shot both his step-daughter and his neighbor before running back into his home and barricading himself inside."
The teen died from critical injuries which is tremendously sad, it does not state where the daughter's mother was or what took part in the domestic situation.
It is an awful situation when someone loses their life so young to violence because, they had so much to accomplish whether it was graduating high school, getting married, going to college, or even starting a business.
All of that has been taken from this young woman due to a domestic situation that a lot of people are unaware of.
Now in 2021, it is so important that we start to protect our young women as they are growing up because they are either being kidnapped or hurt in some way.
Who knows what the altercation could have been but, it is clear that the stepfather felt guilty since he was barricaded inside of the home and ended up taking his own life.
Being a bonus parent is a lot of work but, just imagine the pain that the mother is currently feeling right now. Knowing that her daughter will never come and hug or smile at her again.
Before you harm anyone or yourself you should always think about the consequences that come with that decision. Let's not ignore the fact that he also harmed someone that the teenager was with.
This individual could have been an innocent party regardless of the domestic situation. Violence should have not been an option.
In the end, you are hurting more than just yourself and the person that you harm. You are hurting their family, friends, classmates, or coworkers.
It becomes so much bigger than the situation, taken a life and taken your own life is a big decision that you cannot take back.
One decision that is always a positive choice is communicating, there is nothing wrong with the situation down with each other and talking out the conflict.
Violence should always be the last option especially when you are supposed to be a parent or a role model for this child.
What would you have done in this situation?
