Enjoy a night at home with some takeout and to-go cocktails.

Takeout cocktails are off-limits to many people across the United States, but fortunately, this opportunity is legal in Michigan. As of recently, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, signed this into law paving the way for bars and restaurants to allow alcohol sales during the ongoing pandemic. It is the perfect luxary for those who may not desire mixing a drink at home. As for this allowance, there are of course rules to go along with it. The drinks must be sold in sealed containers, be no larger than a gallon and contain a label. Customers are not allowed to drink them on the street unless specified as a “social districts.”

From boozy slushies to adult ice pops and classic cocktails, here’s where to grab an alcoholic beverage for carryout in the Detroit area.

Bagley Central - 2545 Bagley Street, Detroit, MI 48216

Bagley Central is offering its menu for both curbside pickup and takeout. Here you can find unique options such as batched bottled drinks, kits and build-your-own beer six packs.

Chartreuse Kitchen & Cocktails - 15 E Kirby Street, Detroit, MI 48202
Chartreuse Kitchen & Cocktails started their carryout cocktails serving the Last Word, which is a classic Detroit cocktail made with Chartreuse. Now, the restaurant offers so much more including martinis and other classics as well.

Cork & Gabel - 2415 Michigan Ave, Detroit, MI 48216

Cork & Gabel in Corktown is currently offering fun cocktails such as adult Capri Suns. Each drink is priced at $20 and contains enough for two cocktails.

When Takoi’s to-go cocktails are ordered, they come in miniature cans. Fun drinks are what you'll find at this restaurant including herby margaritas, boozy Thai iced tea, and more. Each drink is available as a four-pack or a mixed four-pack; beer and wine is also available.

One of Detroit’s best distilleries is now canning cocktails to-go. You heard that right! Choose from options like a Ryenold Palmer with rye, ice tea, and lemonade or a rum daiquiri. Keep in mind that each can is equivalent to two drinks.

The Sugar House - 2130 Michigan Ave, Detroit, MI 48216

The Sugar House welcomes customers to stop by on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 5 P.M. to purchase batched and bottled cocktails to-go. Four drink options are available weekly along with single-barrel whiskey. The cost of each drink is $20.

Standby and The Skip - 225 Gratiot Ave, Detroit, MI 48226
Have you heard of sibling bars, Standby and the Skip? Well these two are serving up their options of cocktails to go as well. At Standby, order online to purchase large batch stirred cocktails for $35 (five drinks), shaken cocktails for $15 (two drinks per bottle), and carbonated cocktails for $12 (two drinks). The Skip’s frozen drinks, cocktails, mixers, and sangria are also available, so the options are endless here. The drinks are priced between $14 and $50 and include the options of beer and wine, along with snacks and ice cream also available.
