Although Meijer has had a long absent from Michigan's largest city, that isn't for long. Meijer will soon have a presence in the East Jefferson Corridor in Detroit.

Rivertown Market is a small-format grocery store operated by supermarket chain Meijer. It is said, this neighborhood grocery store will focus on bringing fresh food and value to customers in a market-like setting. Rivertown Market will present a unique shopping experience, yet, similar to other small-format stores. This market will offer offer Detroiters fresh food, artisan groceries, and other Meijer brands products as well.

A plus to this new Detroit addition is that about 60 job opportunities will become available. These jobs available will have competative pay and offer benefits along with other advantages.

The Rivertown Market will support local brands by featuring products right in the store which makes this store so unique. By opening day of this store, the goal is to include 2,000 local products sourced from the Detroit area. This is something that you don't see everyday. The products you'll come to know and love include items like Ma Cohens, Cyntsational Popcorn, Avanti Greeting Cards and Great Lakes Coffee. These few mentioned are only the beginning of options though. This new market won't just include food products but also a various of household supplies and health and beauty products specifically sourced from local, black women-owned businesses. There will also be an expansive alcohol assortment including a rolling ladder along the tall liquor wall. The Great Lakes Coffee mentioned above will even have its own coffee shop specializing in nitro brews and low to medium roasts. Along with all of these great assets to this market, there is even more. The fresh produce and floral areas will be in three garage-style doors opening to the outdoors. The modern details will be unmatched to other markets.

If you’re looking to be featured as one of the thousands of local products featured through the market, more info can be found here.
