Gift Guide: Host Or Cook Edition

Becca Ballard

How do you thank such a generous host, or gift a friend that loves to cook?

If you are asking yourself either of these questions- this gift guide is for you!

If you are not the host, you're probably the guest! Hopefully you're prepared for any invitation with a stack of hostess gifts sitting around. If you aren't- you are probably like the rest of us. In this situation, you'll most likely be on the lookout for a hostess gift to bring to your next event. If you don't have any time to grab something, don't worry, it's never too late- a belated, mailed hostess gift is better than nothing at all.

Hosting, especially right now in our live during a pandemic, is a lot of work especially with added health concerns. This year, why not give that special host a thoughtful gift, something personal and practical ideally. Show the host in your life how much you appreicate them and their hard work with a gift that they might just re-use year after year. If you are the one hosting the party- don't forget to grab a little something for yourself. There is nothing wrong with some self-appreciation!

Nothing is better than receiving a kitchen gift especially for those that love to cook, or host. I love hosting so anything entertainment focused is always fun to get. These items below could be great gifts to give not only this holiday season, but year round (housewarming gift, ect). Instead of bringing a bottle of wine to the next party you’re attending, consider bringing an Aerator Wine Decanter- you’ll for sure be the next MVP at the party, trust me. It can be difficult to find the perfect gift, so I have rounded up some items that will definitely be appreciated- even if they insist you don't bring a thing.

I hope at the least, this gift guide gives you inspiration for what to get that host or cook in your life this holiday season.

Always Pan by Our Place

This best selling pan would surely do the trick as the perfect gift. It is 8 pieces of cookware all in 1. Plus, it looks so cute and aesthetically pleasing. Braise, sear, steam, strain, saute, fry, boil and more with this all in one pan.

Reusable Electric Lighter

A small item, yet extremely useful is a reusable electric lighter. A reusable lighter just means that is does the job without the gas, fluid or flame. Just one charge can last upwards of 60 uses. This item turns on and off by just the push of a button, how easy! Add this item with a candle, top it with a bow and you just found yourself an easy gift idea.

Air Fryer

Air fryers seem to be the hottest gift of the season and after using one recently, I can see why! It is such a fun and easy way to fry different foods while not using oil. As we try to eat healthy, this item almost makes it too easy. Most foodies and cooks want to stay on top of trends, and with this item, they can do just that making it the ultimate gift idea!

Amazon Echo

This electronic device looks awesome in any room whether it is sitting in the kitchen, living room, or bedroom. Stream music or listen to podcasts on this premium sound device. The Amazon Echo can be voice controlled and answer any questions that come up along the day. This smart home hub does just about anything and everything including voice controlling lights, locks and sensors. The best part is that even if the host or cook in your life already has an Amazon Echo; a house is not complete without two! This device can connect to other devices, to create multi-room music and communication. You can even call anyone hands free!

Aerator Wine Decanter

Enjoying more time at home only means drinking more wine at home, am I right? If you want to elevate your experience, or others experience, an aerator wine decanter can be the perfect item to do just that. Not only does it make for a great accent piece, this item also serves a major purpose. The purpose is to increase the wines exposure to oxygen which then develops the aromas and flavors of the wine. Endure good wine and decor with this unique item.

What Do You Meme?

Who doesn't love a fun game or two when at a get-together. What Do You Meme is a card game that brings the relatable fun of the internet humor to real life. This best selling game will keep you laughing all night long. Long story short- this game is played by matching photo cards with matching cards which creates a funny meme combination. You do not want to miss a party when this game is around!

"Just Feed Me" Cookbook

A cookbook can be an easy and fun gift to give. It can be so enjoyable to try a new recipe that you know someone else loves! This cookbook by popular, Jessie James Decker, is a kitchen staple. From appetizers, to meals and desserts, this cookbook has it all.

Guac Bowl

A great gift that many people maybe don't have, yet anyone and everyone can use, is a guac bowl. This can be the perfect dish whether entertaining others or just for yourself. These days, just about everyone loves avocados so you really cannot go wrong giving this item as a gift!

P.S. Throw in a couple avocados, or even all the ingredients for fresh guac in, to complete this gift!

Wine Glasses

A pretty set of glassware is always appreciated. You could even put two wine glasses and a bottle of wine in a basket to gift as a set. The options are endless with gifting wine glasses, or any cute glasses!

Charcuterie Board

One of my go to gifts for a host or cook, is a charcuterie board. I love these boards because they can be used for more than just cheese. They can be utilized as a platter and as a piece of decor too. The options are truly endless with this item. Have extra time? Customization options are available for charcuterie boards. Engrave a quote or a families last name on the board to make it personalized and even more thoughtful. There seriously is a charcuterie board out there for anyone's style.
