Murals of the Mission District in San Francisco
Walking around the Mission and looking at the murals I realized how much talent is out there that most people don't know about and may never see if it wasn't for these beautiful murals. Most of them have a story to tell and some are memorials for lost loved ones. Murals first appeared along Balmy Alley in the mid-1980s as an expression of outrage over human rights violations and political corruption in Central America. Today, themes have expanded to include gentrification and government injustice.
I have lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 50 years. I bring my Subs on a journey to discover the Bay Area and sometimes beyond it through my eyes. I will show you the little details of this wonderful area I live in. Follow me on my Journey.
