From August 22 to 29, the Bayou City will host the first-ever Houston Theater Week, with discounts on 93 shows and concerts available through the 18 participating organizations through the 2022-2023 season.
It is the city's largest promotion for live theater and performing arts in its history.
According to an August 11 press release, Houston Theater Week is a week when Houstonians can enjoy an exclusive buy-one, get-one-free ticket deal modeled after New York's Broadway Week. The Houston Theater District partnered with the Houston First Corporation to launch the initiative.
The announcement lists the following performances:

- "Dance Theatre of Harlem"
- "Handel's Messiah"
