”A lot of people relate to having their pet with them, you know, attending their Zoom lectures because everyone was pretty much at home. She's just kind of my special graduate," Francesca Bourdier told FOX 7.
According to FOX 7, Francesca Bourdier completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin in spring 2022.
When UT switched to virtual learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, Bourdier spent the majority of her college career at home attending Zoom lectures alongside Suki, her one-and-a-half-year-old cat, per FOX 7.
Suki, Bourdier claims, attended every online class she had by her side.
When the time came for Bourdier to receive her degree, the feline had to be designated as an honorary graduate, per FOX 7.
Bourdier purchased a cat-sized graduation robe and cap online that resembled her own, and the two posed for graduation photos together.
Bourdier took to social media to share the heartwarming photos of herself and her feline accomplice.
The Instagram post has gone viral since it was shared. Several internet users supported Suki's recent accomplishment and adorable graduation attire.
"Congratulations to you both," the university said in response to her post.
Suki didn't receive an official diploma, but her owner is grateful that her devoted cat was able to attend her special day.
According to the station, the newly minted UT graduate owns and operates a small clothing business and sells matching pet and owner outfits.
