Local Restaurants to Try Out in Georgia

The week can be very hectic, to the point where you don't feel like cooking. But you also want to avoid fast food.

There are some really great local restaurants right here in Georgia. Support your local businesses with these great restaurants.

Hiro Ramen: If you are a fan of ramen, this is the place to go. Hiro Ramen in Decatur has 11 different kinds of ramen. They also have a variety of rice bowls and sushi. If you want a refreshing beverage, try their dirty milk tea. No, the milk is not actually dirty, it gets its name from the brown sugar, black tea, and milk. It is very delicious and worth a try if you're into boba tea.

Rose and Olives: Good Mediterranean food is hard to come by sometimes. But Rose and Olives is a good place to start. They have the very common gyros and hummus dishes and lesser-known traditional dishes like Alballu polo (Cherry polo) and dolmatos. Located in Duluth, this restaurant is a hidden gem.

Farmed Kitchen and Bar: If you want something simple, yet sophisticated try this place out. A farm-to-table restaurant with a straightforward menu located in Tucker, GA. However, the food is anything but simple. From a butternut-squash arugula salad to the braised beef short-ribs. So much flavor without too many bells and whistles. If you make a reservation, you can sit at the Chef's table for the ultimate dining experience.

Southbound: I know a lot of these places, I focus more on the dinner portion. But with Southbound in Chamblee, GA the brunch menu is tempting. You can try their array of beverages like Irish coffee and mimosas or some mushroom avocado toast. Their dinner menu also has some interesting items like a wood-grilled steak and southern ramen.

Old Hickory House: This is a favorite of mine. Old Hickory House is located in Tucker, GA, and has some of the most finger-licking bbq you ever had. Their pork ribs are amazing and the catfish is on point. I could go on about all the yummy things they have but it is better you taste for yourself.

The Slutty Vegan: There are more and more vegan restaurants popping up around Atlanta. While the name may not be to everyone's taste, the food is definitely a win. A burger joint that severs plant-based versions of your favorites. The one-night stand is a vegan burger made from a plant-based patty with vegan bacon, non-dairy cheese, and their special 'slut sauce'. They even have vegan Philly cheesesteak. So even if you are not vegan, you'll enjoy these burgers and sandwiches.

Purnima Bangladeshi Cuisine: Most people are not familiar with Bangladesh food. But you will find yourself drooling over the selection of tandoori and biriyani entrees. They have a menu for different types of bread to go with your meal along with chutney and relishes. There are also various lamb and goat dishes if you're in the mood for something different.

There are so many different cuisines from around the world that you can find right here in Georgia. Use this time to explore them all and go on a tasty adventure.

Stay safe everyone!
