NEW ORLEANS, LA - On August 28, Ochsner Health announced that several of its urgent cares, clinics, and COVID-19 testing and vaccine locations are closed on August 29-30 due to Hurricane Ida.
The closed locations are in the regions of Baton Rouge, Bayou, Northshore, and Greater New Orleans. All surgical and elective procedures, as well as scheduled COVID-19 vaccination and testing on those places are canceled.
As an alternative, patients can use Ochsner Anywhere Care to connect with physicians through virtual visits. Ochsner Anywhere Care is an integrated and streamlined experience delivered via iOS or Android applications on phone or via the website on the computer. It allows users to communicate with providers on a secure, private, and interactive video from home.
The virtual visit is available around the clock for urgent care and behavioral health appointments. Urgent care conditions include cough, cold, flu, sore throat, urinary tract infections, fever, pinkeye, rash and allergies, stomachache, and sinus problems.
Through behavioral health appointments, patients can see doctors online for symptoms like anxiety, panic attacks, depression, insomnia, ADD/ADHD, postpartum depression, eating disorders, PTSD, and counseling.
If you are facing a medical emergency, please call 911 and visit the emergency departments as all Ochsner hospitals are operating normally. Emergency warning signs include difficulty in breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion or inability to arouse, and bluish lips or face. Considering current weather conditions and safety precautions, only one person or visitor is allowed to accompany each patient.
For more information on when Ochsner urgent cares and clinics will be back on service, residents can visit the Ochsner website for a timely update.
