NEW ORLEANS, LA — The St. Tammany Art Association or STAA is an art organization that provides arts education to all ages and experience levels.
It regularly holds various classes and exhibitions in its headquarter at 320 N Columbia St., Covington.
Here are four STAA classes and camps through June and July.
1. Life Drawing Studio
This class will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, from 6.30 PM to 9 PM at STAA’s headquarter. This class will have no instructor and let all the attendees explore and express their understanding of every painting form, including abstract, figure, landscape, and more.
This class is for adults only. Participants under the age of 18 years should have their parents’ permission. The fee is $20, including rental facility, live model, wine and cheese.

2. Potter Wheel Basics
This class will be held from Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 1.30 PM to Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 4 PM and will take place at STAA’s headquarter. This is a four-week long beginner pottery class.
Participants will learn steps on how to do the basics on the potter’s wheel.
The first two classes will teach students to make different vessels that could be wheel-thrown such as mugs, bowls, and plates. The third class will teach students to add attachments or finishing touches, and the final session will teach them to apply glazes.

3. Frank Levy’s Summer Theater Camp
This is a summer camp for children aged 5 to 16. In partnership with choreographer and director Caree Llewellyn, STAA will teach children the fundamentals of acting, dancing, use of props, sound effects, body language and confidence.
The theme for the camp is The Little Mermaid, with a performance and cast party on Saturday.
The camp will be held from July 19 to July 24, 10 AM to 3 PM.
Tickets are $200 for STAA members and $250 for non-members, costumes for children included.

4. Fingerprint Summer Camp 2021
This is a four-session camp for children aged 6 to 12. The participants will be brought for a hands-on learning environment of Louisiana Native American by the basics of painting, drawing and clay, and Art History exploration. The first session and the second session were already held.
The third session is from June 21 to June 25, with the theme “Celebrating Nature Inspired Art throughout the Ages”.
The fourth session is from June 28 to July 2, with the theme “Celebrating Art Inspired by the Environment and Recycled Materials”.
The camp is $200 for STAA members and $250 for non-members and will be held at STAA’s headquarter.
