Every now and then, we have way too many clothes just hanging in our closets or folded neatly (or shoved) in a shelf that will never be worn again. Why not sell that item and get some money out of it? For me, I have a ton of clothes that will never see the light of day again. After looking through my, what felt like, endless amount of clothes, I found many items that I thought would definitely sell online. I did some research and I found some places to sell my clothes. The cool thing about selling things online is that you can be your own boss and make your own prices. You can also decide if you give your buyers free shipping or not.
If you’re interested in selling some clothes online, here are my experiences with these 2 apps. At the end of the article, I’ve added other places to sell your items if these don't work for you.
I started my vinted account a couple years ago and had a great experience with it. It’s a great place to buy and sell clothes. Throughout my time on the app (I still have the app on my phone, just no clothes on my profile page), I’ve made well over $100 from selling my barely used clothes.
All you need is to create an account. Once you’ve created your account you can start posting your items! When you press the sell button, it asks you to take pictures of the item. A really good tip is to have someone modeling the shirt, pants or shoes. Or, you can simply have the item sprawled out on the floor or hanging on a hanger. Also, be sure to describe any rips or marks on the shirt. The rest is pretty self explanatory. You can add your paypal or banking information so the money is sent straight to your account. To ship clothes, I went to Target or Wal-Mart to get yellow envelopes and sent them out as quickly as I could. When an item sells, a shipping label is sent to your email.
It’s definitely worth the download if you got some cute clothes to sell. I’ve also bought items (mostly clothes and a tote bag) and everything was legit and came in perfect condition, just like the seller stated.
You can download the app on your Android or Apple device.
For a few years, I took a break from selling clothes online. I deleted my clothes off Vinted so no one bought items that they wouldn’t receive. I was cleaning out my room and found a ton of clothes that I thought would sell so I downloaded a new app called Depop. Depop is like Vinted, but people sell anything and everything including makeup, vinyl records, clothes, posters, magazines and more. The selling process is the same as Vinted. Just put a very detailed description of your item and note any damages so the potential buyer is aware. I had my clothes on the app for less than 24 hours and I already had 2 sales. If you're interested in buying but have questions about the item, a simple direct message to the seller is easy as 1,2,3!
You can download Depop on your Android or Apple device.
