The perfectly buttered popcorn, dark atmosphere, air conditioning, and huge screen make trips to the movie theater one of the best outings, especially during the summer. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's missed going over the course of the pandemic! As theaters begin to re-open, you can bet I'll be there at least weekly.
However, since my bank account isn't such a fan of this plan, I'll be checking out the cheap movie specials as well — some of which are as low as a dollar! Keep reading for four theaters in Georgia to check out if you're also a fan of the big screen and the small prices.
1. NCG
Where in GA
You can find an NCG theater in Acworth, Brookhaven (in Atlanta), Marietta, Peachtree Corners, Sharpsburg (near Peachtree City), Snellville, and Stone Mountain.
The special
All-day Tuesday, you can see most movies for only $5 (plus tax)! This is an especially great deal because you're not limited to picking an old movie like you would be at some theaters.
2. Regal
Where in GA
Since Regal is such a large movie chain, you can find one of their theaters in 18 different Georgia locations. I suggest looking at the Locations part of Regal's website, clicking "Georgia," and finding the nearest city listed.
The special
During the summer, Regal hosts a "summer movie express" where you can see family movies for only $1! This special occurs on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You'll need to check your specific theater for the start time.
Summer Express movies in 2021 include "Teen Titans GO! to the Movies," "Wonder Park," "Smurfs: The Lost Village," "A Dog's Way Home," and many more. Each week contains two different movies. You can see the schedule on the Summer Movie Express section of Regal's website.
3. Marcus Theatres
Where in GA
You can find this theater in Horizon Village, Roswell, and Tucker.
The special
Marcus Theatres has a few specials, all on Tuesday. In addition to $5 movies, you can also rent out a theater room for only $99. What a fun event for a big group!
The other special is about food: Members can get a free, complimentary-size popcorn and other snack specials!
4. Picture Show
Where in GA
This theater is located at Merchant's Exchange in Marietta.
The special
Picture Show also has a variety of great prices, never reaching over $8.75. The summer movie series lasts from May 31 to July 28. You can see a movie for $1 on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:15 a.m., and movies on Tuesdays are $4.50.
With regular movie prices at other theaters reaching sky-high prices like $15 or more, this deal is a steal!
