2022 NFL Draft: What will the Lions do?

The Detroit Lions are set to be major players in Thursday's NFL Draft, holding eight of the 262 picks in the three-day, seven-round draft.

Currently, the Lions hold draft picks in the following rounds:

Round 1: No. 2, No. 32 (from Los Angeles Rams)

Round 2: No. 34

Round 3: No. 66, No. 97 (compensatory)

Round 5: No. 177 (compensatory)

Round 6: No. 181, No. 217 (compensatory)

Ford Motor Co. lays off nearly 600 workers

Ford Motor Co. laid off 580 U.S. workers on Wednesday from their "engineering function."

According to comments made by Monique Brentley, a Ford spokeswoman, the job cuts were made for selective engineering teams.

"We continue to align staffing around the critical skills needed to deliver our products, services and the Ford+ plan," Brentley said. "We are making adjustments in select U.S. engineering teams, which includes some reassignments as well as a reduction of approximately 350 salaried and 230 agency positions."

Stevie Wonder to receive honorary degree at Wayne State commencement

As announced by Wayne State University, Motown legend Stevie Wonder will receive an honorary degree at the school’s May 7 commencement.

Wonder will be honored with the Doctor of Humane Letters in recognition of his contributions as a musician and advocate for civil rights and the disabled community.

Road closures in Metro Detroit this weekend

Beginning on Saturday, construction crews will be working at Nine Mile and Woodward, leading to road closures in Ferndale.

Nine Mile will be closed all weekend, and drivers should expect delays in the area.
