Monroe Street Midway returning to downtown Detroit this summer

This summer, the Monroe Street Midway is returning to Downtown Detroit to offer family-friendly fun and entertainment for the city.

The event, which opens on Friday, May 27 and runs all summer long near Campus Martius Park, people can enjoy the Detroit roller rink, the Rocket Mortgage Sports Zone, a 9-hole experimental mini-golf course, a basketball court, covered pavilion seating and a large grass lawn.

The Midway's hours will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays except on Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Elon Musk’s Starlink satellites soar across Metro Detroit sky

On Thursday evening, many southeast Michiganders witnessed a string of bright lights streaming across the sky.

These lights turned out to be some of Elon Musk’s Starlink satellites, which are low-orbit satellites that are part of his commercial enterprise to sell internet access.

Rest assured, aliens were not preparing to invade our great state.

At least not yet.

Degree Forward program offers college education for Detroit students for $7,000 per year

Degree Forward, a college degree program that costs $7,000 a year, is now available to help prospective Detroit students looking to further their education.

The program can also assist people in their thirties and forties looking to advance in their career and salary potential.

Accused Oxford High School shooter Ethan Crumbley trial date set for September 2022

Accused Oxford High School shooter Ethan Crumbley appeared in front of Oakland County judge Kwame Rowe for a pre-trial hearing on Thursday, where a tentative trial date was set for September 6, 2022.

Crumbley has been charged with 24 counts, including murder and terrorism after he allegedly shot and killed four teens during a mass school shooting on Nov. 30, 2021.
