Today is Monday, April 18, let's check out Detroit's biggest stories of the day.

Winter Weather Advisories set for Metro Detroit counties

A Winter Weather Advisory will be put into effect across Macomb and Oakland Counties between noon and 7 p.m. on Monday.

The area is expected to receive up to 4 inches of snow, the majority of which is projected to fall between 1 and 5 p.m.

Tax Day 2021: What to know

Monday marks Tax Day 2022, the federal deadline to file income tax returns and pay taxes owed.

While the IRS expects millions of last-minute filings both electronically and through the mail, they also said that as of April 8, over 103 million returns for this tax season had been received.

Around 40% of this year's taxpayers, however, are still unaccounted for.

Pistons' Cade Cunningham named finalist for NBA Rookie of the Year

Detroit Pistons rookie guard Cade Cunningham was named one of three finalists for the 2021-22 NBA Rookie of the Year award on Sunday.

Cunningham is joined by Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes and Cleveland Cavaliers center Evan Mobley as finalists for the award.

Cunningham, the first pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, played in 64 games this season, averaging 17.4 points, 5.6 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game.

Michigan gas prices continue to gradually decrease

Gas prices across Michigan dropped another 3 cents from last week's average, with drivers now paying $3.92 a gallon on average and around $3.97 a gallon in Metro Detroit. 

Despite the decline, the prices are still 29 cents higher than this time last month and $1.13 more than this time last year.
