Oxford High School shooting victims sue school district for $100 million each

Following last week's mass shooting at Oxford High School, two $100 million lawsuits have been filed against the Oxford school district and several employees.

The lawsuits were filed by Attorney Geoffrey Fieger on behalf of a student who was shot in the neck and her sister, who was with her at the time she was shot.

Macomb County man arrested for role in Jan. 6 US Capitol riot

Timothy Levon Boughner, 41, of Romeo, has been arrested after officials said he took part in the insurrection on Jan. 6 at the U.S. Capitol.

According to federal prosecutors, video and pictures show a man they say is Boughner pepper-spraying U.S. Capitol police. They also said Boughner shared his experience on social media.

Detroit traffic stop leads to recovery of 41 stolen packages

Early Wednesday morning, a traffic stop lead to the recovery of 41 stolen packages by Detroit Police Department officers Corey Davis and Malcolm Jackson.

During the stop of a black Dodge Caravan at around 3:40 a.m. near West McNichols Road and Freeland Street, the officers noticed a large number of packages in the back seat. According to police, the male driver “could not provide a good explanation as to why” he had the packages, and it was discovered that they were addressed to homes in Farmington and Farmington Hills.

After contacting police in Farmington and Farmington Hills and confirming that the packages had been reported stolen, the driver was arrested and taken to the Detroit Detention Center.

Detroit's TCF Center to be renamed as the Huntington Place

Following the merger of Huntington Bancshares Incorporated and TCF Financial Corporation, Detroit's TCF Center will be renamed Huntington Place.

In August 2019, the convention center was renamed the TCF Center after years of being named Cobo Center.
