Mysterious meteor-like object soars across Metro Detroit sky

At around 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning, a meteor-like object could be seen flying above multiple Metro Detroit cities.

Some of the communities that saw the flying object include Belleville, Clinton Township, Fraser, Freeland, Holly, Howell, Pontiac, Romulus, Trenton, Warren, White Lake.

Gov. Whitmer set to veto GOP's school voucher proposal

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will veto a GOP-led proposal to create a school voucher system in Michigan.

The proposal may try to get around a constitutional ban on using public money to fund private education.

Simone Biles to lead 'Gold Over America' tour alongside fellow Olympians into Detroit

This Sunday, gymnast Simone Biles will lead the Gold Over America Tour into Detroit's Little Caesars Arena.

The event is described as “a high-energy gymnastics-meets-pop concert spectacular,” and will also include decorated gymnasts such as Jordan Chiles, MyKayla Skinner, Grace McCallum, Jade Carey, Laurie Hernandez, Katelyn Ohashi, Morgan Hurd, Peng-Peng Lee and others.

The show will begin at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24, and tickets can be purchased here.

Detroit Red Wings defeat Columbus Blue Jackets, 4-1, in Detroit

On Tuesday evening, the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets, 4-1, to improve to a 2-0-1 record.

Red Wings rookie Lucas Raymond scored his first career NHL goal, while Tyler Bertuzzi, Vladislav Namestnikov and Adam Erne also added to help secure the team's victory.
