From Warehouses to Workspaces: Amazon Aims for Office Expansion and Job Boom in Florida

E-commerce giant Amazon is looking for additional office space in Miami due to recent growth in the region. Bloomberg reports Amazon is looking for 50,000 square feet of office space in Miami.

The company already has 400 corporate and tech employees across office locations in the Miami region, but organic growth has caused it to look for bigger premises.

The news of an Amazon expansion in Miami comes after founder Jeff Bezos announced he was moving from Seattle to Miami. Bezos wants to live closer to his parents as well as his company's Blue Origin operations in Cape Canaveral, Florida. He recently purchased a seven-bedroom mansion for $79 million in Indian Creek- the most expensive neighborhood in the United States.

Axios reports Bezos is not the only billionaire moving to Miami. Eric Schmidt, the former chair and CEO of Google, and Republican megadonor Ken Griffin have made the move recently.

Increased demand from companies in the technology and financial sectors has led to a boom in Miami's office market.
