Innovation in Retail: Ikea Unveils More Accessible Shopping with Small Format Store in DFW Area
Great news for Ikea fans in the Dallas Fort Worth area, with a new store set to open this week.
Shoppers, however, will notice the store differs from the usual Ikea stores. The Swedish home furnishings maker will open a Plan and Order Point in The Park Village shopping center at 1041 E. Southlake Blvd in Southlake.
This is the first Plan and Order Point to open in the DFW area. The smaller-scale store combines a public showroom with one-on-one consultation and planning services for design projects. The store only allows customers to order items for delivery.
“We are thrilled to bring the best of Ikea to our neighbors in Southlake. We’ve seen that customers are still eager for in-person experiences, and we hope that providing a new and convenient way to shop will help meet the needs of our customers in DFW and beyond.”Javier Quiñones, CEO and chief sustainability officer, Ikea U.S
This will be the third store in the DFW area, following two large-format Ikea stores in Frisco and Grand Prairie.
The new Ikea will open on Wednesday, November 29, at The Park Village shopping center in Southlake.
Are you glad to see Ikea open a new store in the DFW area? Will you visit the new small format store?
