California Dominates the Rankings: Three Cities Among the Nation's Best for Women to Live
WalletHub has just released a report ranking the best cities in the United States for women to live in.
The report states:
“While women generally make up a higher percentage of the population in most areas across the nation, they are not always in the best location to maximize their potential. In order to determine the best places for women to thrive, WalletHub compared 182 cities across 15 key indicators of livings standards for women. Our data set ranges from the median earnings for female workers to the quality of women’s hospitals to suicide rates for women."
And it is good news for women in California, with three cities ranking in the top five overall in the United States for women to live in.
Irvine ranked third overall, Fremont was fourth, and Santa Clarita was fifth. All three cities scored very high for Women's Health Care and Safety, boosting their rankings.
Other Californian cities that made the top 20 included San Francisco (11th), Huntington Beach (13th), Rancho Cucamonga (17th) and Oakland (19th).
The lowest ranked city in California was Fresno, which was ranked 131 out of 182 cities.
Are you glad Californian cities ranked so highly? Should more be done nationwide to improve women's economic and social wellbeing?
