Mississippi City Earns Unfortunate Distinction as the Worst for Women to Live In
WalletHub has just released a report ranking the best cities in the United States for women to live in.
The report states:
“While women generally make up a higher percentage of the population in most areas across the nation, they are not always in the best location to maximize their potential. In order to determine the best places for women to thrive, WalletHub compared 182 cities across 15 key indicators of livings standards for women. Our data set ranges from the median earnings for female workers to the quality of women’s hospitals to suicide rates for women."
And it is not good news for women in Jackson, Mississippi, with the city ranking as the worst overall in the United States for women to live in.
Jackson performed poorly in both categories, ranking last overall for Women's Economic and Social Well-Being and 5th last overall for Women's Health Care and Safety, for an overall ranking of 182nd out of 182 cities.
The report wasn't good for Mississippi,well-being with Gulfport ranked 181st and second worst overall.
Are you surprised Mississippi cities ranked so poorly? Should there be more done nationwide to improve women's economic and social well-being?
