North Carolina Workers Suffer Again as Business Announces Staff Reductions
Another North Carolina business has announced permanent layoffs this week.
Yesterday, I reported that North Carolina based Epic Games was laying off 870 staff, and now comes news of more layoffs.
Kayser Roth, an underwear and hosiery manufacturer based in Greensboro, is laying off 136 staff in Lumberton.
Under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, an employer with more than 100 full-time workers must provide a 60-day notice before laying off 50 or more people at a single site.
This week, Kayser Roth notified the North Carolina Department of Commerce that 136 positions would be cut on December 22.
