Pride of Louisiana: Which School Was Named the State's Best?

Education is critical, and many parents are interested in finding the best school to send their child to. One tool that can help assist school selection is the annual rankings of public schools.

Student research group Niche has just released its public school rankings, and it is excellent news for the school that has taken the title of best public school in Oregon.

Niche uses a variety of data measurements, including "ratings from current students, alumni, and parents...and...quantitative data from sources like the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities, extracurricular activity opportunities, and more."

This information is then used to rank over 92,743 public schools across the United States.

Benjamin Franklin High School in New Orleans was ranked the best public high in Louisiana. The school scored an A in academics, sports, and college prep. The school has 1008 students in grades 9 to 12, with a student-teacher ratio of 17 to 1. The average SAT score is 1330.

The school was named the Best Public High School in Louisiana and ranked the 73rd best public school in the United States.

Baton Rouge Magnet High School was ranked second best in Louisiana, with the Louisiana School for Math, Science & The Arts in Natchitoches placing third.
