Excellence Recognized: High School Tops Maryland's Rankings
Education is critical, and many parents are interested in finding the best school to send their child to. One tool that can help assist school selection is the annual rankings of public schools.
Student research group Niche has just released its public school rankings, and it is excellent news for the school that has taken the title of best public school in Maryland.
Niche uses a variety of data measurements, including "ratings from current students, alumni, and parents...and...quantitative data from sources like the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities, extracurricular activity opportunities, and more."
This information is then used to rank over 92,743 public schools across the United States.
Poolesville High School was ranked the best public high in Maryland. The school scored an A+ in academics, teachers, and college prep. The school has 1272 students in grades 9 to 12, with a student-teacher ratio of 20 to 1. The average SAT score is 1410.
The school was named the Best Public High School in Maryland and ranked as the 25th best public school in the United States.
River Hill High School in Clarksville was ranked second best in Maryland, with the Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda placing third.
