Uncertain Future for Illinois Workers as John Deere Enforces Indefinite Layoffs

John Deere has told employees at John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, Illinois, that 225 production employees will be placed on indefinite layoff from October 16.

Meetings were held yesterday with employees who were advised of the news. John Deere Harvester Works has approxinatelyt 2,300 total employees, with 1,975 of them working in production and maintenance jobs.
