Amazon launches a holiday hiring spree in Dallas Fort Worth
E-commerce giant Amazon has launched a hiring spree in Texas in advance of the holiday period.
Amazon wants to hire 28,000 people in Texas across full-time, seasonal, and part-time roles. Thirteen thousand of these positions will be in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, and the company has advised these could lead to permanent work.
On average, customer fulfillment and transportation employees can earn more than $20.50 an hour — an increase of $1.50 over last year. Some new hires will be eligible for bonuses ranging from $1,000 to $3,000.
“Whether someone is looking for a short-term way to make extra money, or is hoping to take their first step toward a fulfilling and rewarding career at Amazon, there’s a role available for them. A fulfillment or transportation employee who starts with us today will see a 13% increase in pay over the next three years—likely more, including our annual wage investments—and that’s on top of offerings like pre-paid college tuition with Career Choice and health care benefits on day one." John Felton, Amazon’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations
Amazon currently has 88,000 employees in Texas.
