Generous country star gives $1000 tip to Whataburger employee
The generosity of country star "Jelly Roll" has gone viral thanks to the musician's generous tip to a Whataburger employee at a store in Dallas, Texas.
The musician posted a video on TikTok that quickly went viral on the platform. In the video, Jelly Roll drives up to a drive-through window at Whataburger and asks the staff member how many people are working with him.
When the employee says there are five, Jelly Roll tells him:
"Listen, I’m going to Venmo you $1,000, but I want you to give everybody working with you $200,” "
The employee expresses shock, and Jelly Roll turns to the camera and says
“My dude don’t believe me y’all, but we’re gonna hit ’em with the big ol’ bank roll."
A follow-up video was later posted, showing the teenage employees receiving the $1000 tip and expressing pure excitement.
Jelly Roll, who was born Jason Bradley DeFord, had a difficult childhood and, at the age of sixteen, received a 10-year prison sentence. It was almost two decades later, he hit the big-time and became a country music star.
“My whole mission in life is to touch people. I just want to help people, man. I want to help those that feel helpless because I felt helpless for so long. And I think this documentary is really going to get into the weeds of that.”
