Today is National Donut Day which means free donuts!
Friday, June 2, is National Donut Day, and three major chains are giving away donuts to celebrate.
National Donut Day is celebrated on the first Friday of June of each year. It was initially started in 1938 as a fundraiser for The Salvation Army to help those in need and to honor the Salvation Army "Lassies" of World War I, who served donuts to soldiers.

Krispy Kreme
Krispy Kreme is treating all guests to any doughnut free, and you don't even need to purchase anything!
Included in the free doughnuts available on National Doughnut Day are Krispy Kreme’s “Fan Favs,” "four recently returned popular flavors from limited time collections over the past five years: the Banana Pudding Doughnut, Chocolate Kreme Pie Doughnut, Key Lime Pie Doughnut, and Strawberries & Kreme Doughnut."

Dunkin Donuts
Dunkin Donuts is also joining in the Donut Day celebrations. Customers can choose a free classic donut with any beverage purchase.

Duck Donuts
Like Krispy Kreme, Duck's is giving away donuts without any purchase necessary.
Duck Donuts, which has four locations in Georgia, is offering customers a free cinnamon donut today.
In addition to these national chains, several local donut stores and smaller franchises are offering specials today, so it's worth checking with your favorite donut store.
