Friday, June 2, is National Donut Day, and what better way to celebrate than with a free donut?

Thankfully three major chains are getting into the spirit by offering free donuts in Ohio.

Let's check out the details.

Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme is treating all guests to any doughnut free—no purchase necessary.

Included in the free doughnuts available on National Doughnut Day are Krispy Kreme’s “Fan Favs,” "four recently returned popular flavors from limited time collections over the past five years: the Banana Pudding Doughnut, Chocolate Kreme Pie Doughnut, Key Lime Pie Doughnut, and Strawberries & Kreme Doughnut."

There are ten Krispy Kreme stores in Ohio. Check here to find the store closest to you.

Dunkin Donuts

Dunkin Donuts is also joining in the Donut Day celebrations. Customers can choose a free classic donut with any beverage purchase.

Ohio is home to 250 Dunkin Donut stores, so one is bound to be close to you! To find the closest store, you can click here.

Duck's Donuts

Duck's Donuts, which has seven locations in Ohio, is also giving away donuts. Customers can enjoy a free cinnamon donut with no purchase necessary.

What is National Donut Day?

National Donut Day is celebrated on the first Friday of June of each year. It was initially started in 1938 as a fundraiser for The Salvation Army to help those in need and to honor the Salvation Army "Lassies" of World War I, who served donuts to soldiers.
