Jobseekers in San Antonio are encouraged to visit JobsFest this week to meet with local companies seeking to fill positions.
A jobs fair targeting people in San Antonio between sixteen and twenty-four years old is being held this Thursday at the AT&T Center.
Over 100 employers will seek people seeking Internships, Part-Time, and Full-Time positions. The event is a "partnership event from Texas State House Representative Barbara Gervin-Hawkins, in collaboration with Bexar County, City of San Antonio, Ready To Work, Goodwill Industries of San Antonio, Spurs Sports & Entertainment, and Workforce Solutions Alamo."
Employers include H-E-B, San Antonio Spurs and Entertainment, Caterpillar, CPS Energy, SAWS, and many more.
"I am honored to work alongside our many community partners to encourage youth to use this summer in a productive way by earning a wage, exploring careers, and obtaining skills to place them on a path for success in the future. Today’s youth will be tomorrow's workforce. JobFest represents an ideal opportunity for youth to network with employers offering a variety of employment and internship experiences in high-growth industries." State Representative Barbara Gervin-Hawkins with Texas House District 120
There will be community resources, financial scholarships, resume and interview help, and free photo headshots available at the event, the release read. Attendees can also win prizes.
Although the event targets those between sixteen and twenty-four, it is open to all ages.
