What is the most popular grocery chain in Kansas?

That is the question that placer.ai wanted to answer, and so it analyzed data to see which chain ranked best.

Coming in first place in the report was the local brand Dillons. 42% of grocery store visits by people in Kansas were to a Dillons store.

This shouldn't come as much surprise as Dillons has its headquarters in Hutchinson, and 63 stores are located in Kansas. Dillon was founded by J.S. Dillon in Hutchinson in 1913 and grew to expand into other states. At one time, Dillon’s purchased the Kroger chain; now the situation is reversed, and Kroger owns Dillon’s and its subsidiaries

12% of grocery store visits in Kansas are to Hy-Vee, while 12% are to Walmart Neighborhood Market.

Given the rising food prices across the country, competition in the grocery industry is set to heat up as customers look for the best prices possible.
